My name is David S. Booth. I’m a artist from Newfields NH. I have been taking photographs since I was 16 years old, with a Nikon FM that my father had given me. I carried around that Nikon and rolls of Kodak Kodachrome film to places like Hawaii, Philippines, Africa, and Australia while I served in the US Navy. During the family years with my wife and two kids, that camera was always at my side. Now that the kids have moved out of the house, I have learned the way of digital photography.
In the last few years I have been using other forms of art and photography in an attempt to slow life down. Taking both photography and art classes at New Hampshire Institute of Art and The Currier Museum of Art, has giving me a better understanding of the creative mediums. The art form of pencil drawing and painting, have taught me to observe the small details very close. When I am out taking photos on location, it is very easy to look at the whole landscape for subject matter. I get more excited trying to find the hidden subject to photograph. I am always trying to give the observer of my art, more….by photographing less.
Thank you for taking time to view my art. Hopefully something you see brings a smile to your face, and allows you to slow down as well.
